Clothing from Heaven was created by Efrain Gonzalez from the idea of the "$100 hamburger," a term general aviation pilots use when they fly to other airports, which have a restaurant on the field, and they order a $5 hamburger, or similar meal, keeping in mind that the flight there usually costs $95 or more. The thought was, if pilots were making these trips on a regular basis, then why couldn't they carry something with them, such as clothing donations, and benefit others in the process. For Efrain, this combined two things that he is passionate about or enjoys, namely, flying and donating clothing to help people in need. After all, participating pilots will still get to fly, and get their $100 hamburger as well! All the while, the service they provide is priceless!
On February 11, 2013, Clothing From Heaven, Inc. was approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 Non-profit Public Charity, and tax exempt from Federal income tax. This means that your donations are fully tax deductible retroactively to August 7, 2012, when we submitted our application to the State of California.
